Lily Davey

Artist's biography

Lily Davey (born 1998) is a Brighton based artist whose themes are Disney characters and other favourite animated characters such as Horrid Henry.

Her preferred medium is Sharpie marker pen on A4 copier paper. Her confident lines, rich colours and textures and the overlaying of text are hallmarks of her work.

She often returns to a piece over several days and continues to work into it. Once completed these are often discarded as she begins a new piece.

Lily is known as an ‘outsider artist’ with no formal art training or artistic influences other than the animated films she watches for inspiration and the printed image references she finds on Google. She has a learning disability and autism and derives great pleasure from producing her work. Lily does not take commissions.
